ok, Indro it is then. I thought of playing into one of the QID, NID complexes, but I did not find many positions there suitable for Black to attain creative, dynamic counterchances. If 1.e4 was played I would have played accelerated Dragon, if 2.e4 I would have played into a sicilian in which I do not know the name. I'll try it in a later round given the opportunity, then someone could tell me.
The corr game in the other forum I have to adjourn until I have more time to analyze those positions.
Btw, I think ...a6 on my last move objectively the strongest move in the position. It seems correct to me to play against the White knights that block the pawns behind them. And by taking advantage of the discomfiture of the knights I can then gain more central space is the idea. Alternatively the Barry attack with Pd6/Nf6 (Pirc setup) is +/=/= for White, and it's difficult for Black to find a pleasant active defense in these positions; I believe I recall David and Scott played a game in this setup in the first round - Scott drew but I liked White's chances. If White plays g3/Bg2 in which case I consider both sides to have equal prospects; had I played via a normal KID move order I would have had the possibility of d5 in one go unless White fianchettoes the bishop via g3. A nuance to keep in mind when selecting 1...d6.

My dream position as black, I wonder if I will have a chance to play this in this tour.
having this position once already in this tourney, and having analyzed the positions here extensively, black has chances. white too. an appealing aspect to this position is if white does not play energetically black can seize the initiative, and if white plays energetically, black can seize the initiative anyway.
in tiger's modern, the setups with Pd5 are most critical, i'm sure of that now. black's play seems to flow very smoothly, but resourcefulness is required to get things right. i mean i probably have 120 pages of analysis on these lines w/d5 thanks to my game with paul, as far as i can see the play is dynamically balanced.

also deviating from my game against Paul in the first round. the only difference is that the queen is on d3 rather than e2. must admit it's nice to have a position in which i get to make all the same moves on almost every white choice. in that respect, i am still well within theory. astonished we're out of theory so early, the concept with Pa6 with Nf3 + Nc3 i am surprised so rare as it is in my view the strongest try versus that white setup. not many play the modern i guess.

No surprise in Matt's games to see the pawn storm heading for the enemy King in KID style, Also, the eval's don't usually mean a lot in Matt's games.

exact same position as i had against paul but with the queen on d3. i think on e2 the queen makes more sense because nd3 is not possible here. but other ideas may manifest themselves based on the maneuverability of the queen on the third rank. btw in this line black wants to get castled as soon as possible to eschew threats of nc6 or xa6 via na2-b4.
