Neither Fritz or Aquarium is reflecting the o/c speed but but an iteration of the stock speed.  Any help here?

The information for the clock speed reproduced in the GUI comes from a system enquiry which knows the standard multiplier of the CPU but is not aware of any changes to the multiplier done during over clocking.

The reason it shows a small over clock is that it is aware that the bus speed has been increased to 103, hence it shows the standard multiplier x 103.

I believe this is true in all Chessbase software, it certainly is in the engine room.

Phis is correct.  I felt under-appreciated when Playchess reported my overclock as 3.9 GHZ, when in fact I overclocked to 4.1.  It does not recognize my "turbo" setting.  This is what if finds from my bios:

CPU Clock Ratio ( 20X )
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ( 196 )

It multiplies 196*20 which is 3920 and reports the GHZ as 3.9.  The problem is that with turbo mode on which Chessbase products do not detect, the CPU clock ratio is really 21.  The correct math (196*21) is 4116, which is a little more than 4.1 GHZ, my actual speed.

In olden days, this could work both ways. Back when AMD chips were best, I played for a while with a very high bus speed and a reduced multiplier. This led Chessbase to report that I had an enormous overclock!

Man! I'm beginning to wonder if the system has anything to read out to?

I went it the Bios...Oh! excuse me..the "" UEFI "" yeah! Ah-uh! Right! (vomit)  the (yo)  " EZ MODE" which, to my amazement - had no text or display it was a BLANK  Just a few round circles set into bordered squares.   :yell::cool:  ASUS meets the challenge for simplicity! The bios is one fleeting enema!

I'm thinking of up grading my experience to MSI's BIG BANG -

And, why not, I say! I took it up the ass by ASUS I may as well get BANGED BY MSI  as well-and they are least up front in  promising me a really BIG BANG for my buck :yell::twisted: ( I probably won't be able to sit down for a month).

(I was also told that this board was new -however the serial that comes up in al suite and the serial that came with the box are different.I ran the one in al suite at the Asus site and it came up immediately as sabertooth x79 motherboard but already in use.).

ASUS COMPLIMENTARY GIFT FOR TAKING IT UP THE ASS

Get an EVGA for your next build.

Look at the feedback - and this is being reflected  across the board at most if not all retail stores.

None of the 2011 socket motherboards are fairing well in the market-

The bad reviews surprised me but the ones that I read rceived answers from EVGA representatives, showing that they backed their produt.  To overclock my current mobo, I mostly used the EVGA voltage guide, along with the excellent resources of the EVGA forum.

Just poor manufacturing. And Tiger Direct total me it was a new board-with two serials!
