Hi Pia

Strelka 5.5 is a clone of Houdini 2,so the elo that you obtained is the same elo that is stronger Houdini 2 from Houdini 1.5a

I do not believe you to 100%

Hi Pia

your message is right, but what has to do with my message?i only claimed and will claim that Strelka 5.5 is a clone of Houdini...even if Houdini from your results appear to be very similar to robbolito, what this has to do about what im claiming?
Parent - - By Pia (****) Date 2012-05-23 09:40 Edited 2012-05-23 09:47

>Houdini from your results appear to be very similar to robbolito

They are not. Houdini = RobboLito. Robert Houdart = RobboLito Houdini :yell:
So if you call Strelka clone, call it RobboLito or even Rybka clone to be exact. Houdini simply does not exist, its only an illusion:smile:

Except Houdini 1.5a, Strelka "cloned" Rybka 3, Ippolit (he's RobboLito family), Critter, Stockfish and more.
But Strelka's evaluation function is unique, as Yuri Osipov stated.
Parent - - By Barnard (Bronze) Date 2012-05-23 16:43
Well,im using an "illusion" :slim:

Osipov cloned rybka until another stronger engine appeared;if tomorrow one engine appears and is 50 elo points stronger than Houdini,be sure that Osipov will clone it
Parent - - By Pia (****) Date 2012-05-23 18:31
Good stimulus for programmers to write completely unique programs so they won't be compatible with Strelka's "all-in-one" and other Rybka derivatives
Parent - By Barnard (Bronze) Date 2012-05-23 19:23
well, not just Osipov make that,a lot of other programmers make the same than him, just other remain incognito
Parent - - By RFK (Gold) Date 2012-05-18 06:17
I am not sure what Uri Osipov has done - But  Strelka 5.5 does seem to be if anything evenly matched against Houdini, but I haven't  done any serious testing since I just downloaded the engine-it might be stronger.
Parent - - By Barnard (Bronze) Date 2012-05-22 14:47
if the engine has a database inside, that means the engine is faking his own force...is like if i can put the nalimov tablebases inside my engine, and tell to everyone that my engine plays perfectly the endgame

Welcome back! I noticed you didn't post for a couple of days...thought you might have gone to the casino to count cards at blackjack!:razz:
Parent - - By Barnard (Bronze) Date 2012-05-22 15:34
Hi George,my friend

not,i was very very bussy to 'tune' Houdini 2 to play stronger than the official version, and i had results!see the pic
Parent - - By keoki010 (Silver) Date 2012-05-22 16:39
Hmmm, good job, wonder if your results would work on the w64 bit? :surprised:
Parent - By Barnard (Bronze) Date 2012-05-22 18:10
yes,it will work since the 64 bit engine is the same than the 32 bits, only calculate about 30 % faster

i cant try im my computer (is a 32 bit),but i will try as soon as possible in my brother's computer (is an i3 64 bits) and i will post the results

p.s.i believe i can improve more the 'tune',and i believe that i can afford to arrive to the at least 30 elo points (maybe 40,the claim of Robert that Houdini 3 will be stronger than Houdini 2)stronger than the official version of Houdini

Hi, Everybody! This is my first post here; Made a little Strelka gauntlet

2 gauntlets x 100 games were played at the same time....

Richard Vida in Talkchess:
Strelka 5.5 has a database of best-moves stored in the executable file for many popular test positions. (29643 positions in total).
When it reaches depth 5 in such position, it excludes all other moves and searches only the stored best-move.

Yessss. It forces Strelka to analyze the only stored move. Too bad for test suites.
