I set up a kings gambit 4 moves into the opening and then did a search of my database of 3300000 games for games with this initial starting position. I came up with 90 games shown in a sub folder in the database section, and all these games were starting at the searched for position as expected. It took around 12 minutes for the search to find these 90 games and I am wondering if this is a typical search time for a position search out of a database this size?
Is this in the Chessbase GUI?
Why have you placed this in the Rybka Discussion forum?
Just for gauging how well/poor I am doing with WinBoard: What was the format of this database? Was it PGN or some binary format? And how fast is your machine?
Aquarium did it in about half a second for 177 games in a database of 4.7 million. CDP format, 2.27 GHz Core i3, SSD.
