Hi,
Anyone know why it is taking so long to release a MP komodo?
Anyone know why it is taking so long to release a MP komodo?
And an SP version - can we have the revised SP version first!
Ohhhh no please don't come with that again ! :-)
You already received you new version recently. (Version 4)
Now it's our turn to receive our MP version ! ;-)

simply, because they have poroblems to implement the MP
Larry said here at forum a few days ago that they have a MP version that ''at least'' compiles...and that keeping in mind that is the 4th version of Komodo, and im sure they are trying to make the MP version since at least 3 version of Komodo,so troubles seems overpassing them

Don & Larry are waiting until Sept until Houdart comes out with Houdini 3 and Richard has had some time to RE and furnish the update !
It's coming soon. Larry just hinted at that over at Talk Chess "a couple of days" I think he said. Looks like we might have Komodo MP by next week.
why couldn't they have released it when I still had $$ left from my tax refund.
I'm not so sure. I think they will have a working version in a couple of days, but then they will test for a couple of weeks at least - or they should.
Will we ever see a Rybka 5 I ask
Honestly, I think they set the bar too high for a first release.
It is No.4 is it not? However, the main differance of course is that we now have to pay for it so would expect it to be right.
I believe the reason for the delay might be that Don wants to be NO # 1 !
I did mean version 4
version 4 ? of a single core! Apples and Oranges!
do you blame him,lot of bucks if he can do this.
I seriously doubt that he will be able to pull it off.
one can but hope.
It is an a lot to ask of any programmer, I think, at this point-
there are exceptions I'm not sure Don is one of them.

At most the best that any one individual seems to be remotely capable of doing is perhaps- attempting to come out on par with Houdini. Fascinating!
Makes me wonder if Robert Houdart isn't one of the original programmers of the Ippolit engines. Just a thought.
I guess they didn't expect to catch Rybka 4 this soon and see being #1 with their debuting MP version a triumphant possibility.
Copy enough ideas anything is possible! eh!
