Board #1 ppipper vs Barnard
Good Luck to both of you!
Good luck Jose at our game and at the tournament
Good luck! Enjoy the game and have fun
Sadly -compared to your direct opponents- a pretty difficult pairing you got here José... wishing you good luck in this Spanish "battle"! :-)
i agree, this is one of the worse possible pairings for me in first round. The good thing is that he should also be thinking the same...
I can feel your support. Thank you very much!
I can feel your support. Thank you very much!
not sure Jose that im thinking that our game is one of the worse pairings for me:the rest of the tournment,i will have a peaceful tournament, and if i obtain a good result against you,i will have a good tournament

Interesting choice for ppipper. White is 50.2% and 41.3% drawn, both numbers that look good for black at this stage.

Now 46.5% and 39.0% for black.
sorry for my ignorance Nelson, but that means that white won 46.5 % of total points of played games,or white won 46.5 % of the games?(and of course, the same for black)
It means the player who is about to play (black here) has a position consisting a 'x' moves that collectively have scored 46.5% of points played.
thanks...and the 39 % is the percentage of won games for the black?
No, the second number is always the % of drawn games.
thanks,i was confused when i saw the both numbers alone, but now i understand that is the same that when you wrote 'white with x and y draws'

Hi Nelson, can you provide statistics for the position, please?
thanks in advance
thanks in advance
sorry for not moving till now Barnard, I just got home and couldn't get access to my books till now. I will post a move tmrr when I have a full holiday to play...!
Enjoy your other game in the meantime!
Nelson's statistics are of great value in many games, little bit less in others. Regardless of this fact, we all have great luck to have at our disposal such a big resource of information.

White with 50.6% and 38.0% draws.
thanks Nelson
> White with 50.6% and 38.0% draws.
Barnard, just in case you didn't notice, this also means that, out of 100 games:
White has won 32 (31.6), drawn 38, lost the rest.
thanks,i was confused because i saw the 2 numbers alone, and i didnt understood what means...now i understand that the first was percentage of total scored points and the second is percentage of draws
Yes, and besides that two numbers (1. scoring-points-percentage and 2. draw-ratio) Senior Nelson is always giving the color out of which view he is speaking of (which in most cases is the color of the last move, or the move he is refering to)... "White has..." & "...for black"
thanks for claryfying me

A very interesting setup in this Semi-Slav-type of position, i like the combined Colle/Zukertort-inspired 5. Bd3 ... 8. b3/Bb2 ... 10. Ne5 and 11. Nd2-ideas... will be interesting to see if a decisive advantage can be worked out here, with Mark's fighting chess, Schachmatt's Hippo and Barnard's Trompovsky the most inspired approach we have seen in this round 1...
im trying to make my dino analyses faster, but it doesnt works
thanks for your words turbo
Novelty move. Prior position was first seen in Vranic-Miljkovic, 0-1, 2006.07.22.
what move played Vranic at that game Nelson?
They both preferred to move the Queen

thanks...first game white elo was 200 elo points below black's elo,so he was in a big disadvantage...so i dont think white moves can be take with a lot of serious things...
second game seems more interesting
i think your move improves white's play, and seems far better than Qe2

well, probably e2 is the best square for white queen, but there is no hurry...
