I think its time for chess again. Jimmy must have his own reasons including his auto banned of wbccc 1 pending issues and wbccc 2. He has done a good job although some mistakes are currently attacking his reputation. Each one will have his own opinion about how he is handling all of this; there are enough posts around with all opinions and questions, mainly requesting him to explain what happened with WBCCC 1 prizes.
I would like to keep this thread clean and free of any criticism to him. it is just intended to set definitive rules for WBCCC2 just in case you, like me and many others, are interested returning to good fighting chess.
Jimmy had done some interesting job promoting the tournament, he even had something with chesspublishing. Garvin seems to be willing to help us, we also have Uly with some experience as TD. David has aleady asked key questions in another thread. We also have Paul, Scoot or even myself, just to mention some people who can help in different issues with organization. Of course, DadI and his tools are here too.
Some decisions have already been taken, there are still pending issues, like prizes. Since this has been controversial, I would let this point for further discussion. IMO the only symbolic prize would be a trophy or plaque for the winner, that should be bought by last edition winner.
We just need small push to go on, and some personal commitment of any of us to help with organization.we just need to take some quick decisions.
WBCCC was a great idea and we will always acknowledge Jimmy for all his job. But the whole ideamust not depend on single persons but on the whole group willing to play chess. Jimmy has, of course, all the doors opened and we will welcome him whenever he wants to return.

These things are pending for WBCCC and I don't see why should they be affecting a future tournament, I had already sent a proposal to Garvin (that NATIONAL12 supports), so I'm waiting for his answer.
We wouldn't be having any problem if the new tournament was unlinked from the previous one. Nobody would go asking what happened to the pending issues of WBCCC to, say, some newly created tournament at FICGS, so I don't see how this situation is different.
I will make a full reply in a few hours. Just giving Jimmy every opportunity to reply. But if there is no reply from Jimmy by tonight my time (currently 2pm where I live), then I will start moving things along myself.

I have contacted Dadi to find out if all the features that were available in 2011 will be available in 2012 if we move forward without Jimmy. I will make announcements once I know the answer to that question.

Dadi has confirmed that we will have access to all features that were available in 2011 for us, including the conditional move options in xfcc play. A new forum will be created for 2012 and the current threads will be moved to there, will a sub forum created for all the 2011 stuff.
I will make a larger announcement in a couple of hours of where to from here.
Jimmy has also sent me a pm agreeing that it is ok with him that I take over as organiser and we move on with myself as organiser. For me that is a relief because I was uncomfortable with the idea of a hostile takeover, when Jimmy has done so much hard work getting this event off the ground from nothing in 2010/2011.
