What, no ...Bb4???, i highly protest!!! :-)... spend now 2 hours clicking through the book-lines serving you a nice Nimzo-Indian meal, and you refuse to eat? Hm, seems you want to establish your new "mainline" you already tested in the WBCCC-game vs. Jimmy...

Edit: Will now take a little time as i want to fully analyze your WBCCC-game, and i may have no time before Sunday sadly... stay tuned. :-)

 I wouldn't depend too too much on this game to follow that one.  that was just a lil transposition to give you and Jimmy something to think about. Actually I hadn't been following your other games for the last couple of days and just plain missed that! :red:

Hi George, didn't have too much time this weekend and will decide tomorrow whether i want to go to José's beloved Moscow(-Variation) with you or not (Anti-), want to click quickly through the ~5 WBCCC-games played in this opening before making an decision... most likely with my cube if i can't decide... :-)

Thank you for your kind words. I try to do my best and play good chess, still one of the best ways to pick up new ideas is search for games of many of you around in this forum.

Keep on doing so good!

Cheers

@Turbo: take your time,:smile::twisted:; I'm still improving my database with those games.

Well, due lack of time i want(ed) to take the new two games with you (and Jimmy) from the easy side, playing more by intuition than engine-assistance, but honestly its difficult to do so when the chess-fever slowly is starting to pick up again ;-)...

I'm considering participating in WBCCC II -or III if II comes to early for me- in the case i get my brother's (i guess first-gen) quad-core he persuaded me by Christmas, or i may even consider buying my own new computer and kiss the planned skiing-holiday goodbye... and here is where the "problem" starts: I may not always play what i consider best (i'm a 1. e4-player by heart but just started one game here with it...) but what is unknown to me and/or what i want to experiment with... which will most likely lead to draws or even loses because the path on this level of play is pretty narrow... but it's still the way i want to go here :-)... and i'm sure you will provide me some challenging refutations of my ideas&approaches and i will learn a lot from/for black's side of play! ;-)
Parent - - By keoki010 (Silver) Date 2011-11-08 00:04
The only thing I can tell you is: Play, Play, Play: you need to play to get better.  You have, IMHO; a very good grounding in chess. Play, play in the WBCCC, FICGS is a good free place; you'll have to work your way up.  Other sites are also good.  Also, don't try to play too many games at one time. Esp. if they are rated on the clock.

(from the other board/thread:)

"I'm cooking at a tailgate party for LSU vs Ole Miss football game."

Oh, football, that explains partially your and yours lazy-(and-not-really-)semi(but-more-likely-full)-automated fancy-computer-analysis-slave's play in this game which reminds a little to college-football... still one should better point out to you both that the final aim of the game (of chess) is NOT to tackle down as much of the opponents pawns as possible NOR to blindly push the own ones into the endzone for touchdown&cheerleading, BUT to sack down the others quarterback (=the guy starting from e1/e8 - your's is still on e8 by the way which could start to be a little problematic...) while on the way therefore making sure that ones own isn't sacked down before... and now tell me, what have you done for your quarterback till now?

Still i have to admit that 13...Bb7 is good and very important here, and pretty deep to find (at least for my poor analysis-tools here)... maybe i better ask Uly for licensing me a few of his completely-winning analysis-methods for low money to bring up my level of play here... anyways, i will think about my move when time allows (looking at the position i guess i have around 4 or 5 moves now to choose from)... most likely i will choose the speculative queen-sac 14. Qd3! to lure you in opening the important c-line for my final attack, so you can already feed your lazy-(and-not-really-)semi(but-more-likely-full)-automated fancy-computer-analysis-slave-MONSTER with this one while ignoring the completely-losing other options for white... and you better just stop when 14....cxd3 is refuted successfully!

Till then please enjoy your week! ;-)
Parent - - By keoki010 (Silver) Date 2011-11-21 14:49
:lol::lol:""Till then please enjoy your week! ;-) "". I really enjoyed that!  However my friendly; (to me at least); computer system is neither automated, slave, or a monster, except in gulping electricity, and we have not  ignored the quarterback. He is merely resting while the defence is on the run for the opposing team.:razz:
Parent - By Turbo (***) Date 2011-11-21 22:22
"except in gulping electricity"

*laughs*, well, thats an advantage of my old laptop, it consums not even 50W running Stockfish. The disadvantage is that i can not really work while analysis is running, therefore analysis within week is rarely possible...

"He is merely resting while the defence is on the run for the opposing team."

I appreciate this friendly way of saying "Ey Turbo, your attack is simply non-existant at all!"... i already know what i want to move here (ya, 14. Qd3! as i told you because its the only move not completely losing for me), still i have to find time to refute all the other alternatives... maybe there is a draw for 'lil Turbo...

Have a great time!
Parent - - By keoki010 (Silver) Date 2011-11-21 22:26
Oh, by the way,, if you are thinking maybe Re1 this was a result for that. 0-1, Inarkiev Ernesto (RUS) - Dreev Alexey (RUS), Moscow (Russia), 2007

 Try not to think about the game while you are training, you should keep your mind clear. "old Japanese saying", I think?:lol:
Parent - - By Turbo (***) Date 2011-11-21 23:02
Oh thanks :-), wasn't aware this line saw already Grandmaster-daylight before us ;-), pretty interesting...
http://www.redhotpawn.com/chess/grandmaster-games/viewmastergame.php?pgnid=47700&subject=Ernesto_Inarkiev_vs_Alexey_Dreev

So i guess you're now expecting me giving up soon? Well, Re1 doesn't make really sense in this position because white wants to push the f-pawn soon, i think there are more (draw-)promising alternatives Rxc4 (which Inarkiev also played one move later) or Bxc4, maybe h3, Nc5 or Nd2, and of course Qd3!.

Btw., "keoki" sounds a little bit Japanese, do you want to tell me what it does mean? :-) I'm asking because i'm currently writing the "How i smoked keoki010 once again"-chapter for "My most memorable games"-book to be released in 2042, and i want to give a nice little introduction to my vict... eh opponents... thanks!

Well somewhere on this forum, l think, I explained how I got this nick. Back, way back when, in 1962 I was in NYC, USA, and had several nice girl type friends. One of them gave me the name, which by the way is supposed to be Hawaiian, because the Navy decided that I would do much better in the Far East. Actually the aircraft carrier I was assigned to. It was the USS Constellation, and was built in the NYC, Brooklyn Navy Yard. Anyway to make a long story short. We rode the durn thing around South America, Cuban crisis, one or two manned space launchs, etc. etc.  Do a search for a post of mine about 2 yrs. ago I think. It is suppose to mean George in Hawaii.

Question 2 I'm hoping to still be around in 2042 but I may need some assistance with my wheelchair. Don't worry though I won't claim any of the funds, probably billions or zillions by then, that you will recieve.  It should be interesting reading as by that time my memory may be really short.

Glad to see that you are using some of your education to track down some of these little games. I haven't tried that site before. By the way what are you majoring in?
