Hello Friends,

I find the Colle played a lot against me in CC especially by players in the 1800-2100 rating. I have tried almost all set-ups for Black including playing the Main Line. I normally play the Slav/Semi Slav as Black & sometimes even the Nimzo / Queen's Indian.
Can any of our knowledgeable members in the community suggest as to how one can play for a win against Colle in CC?
After 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.e3 is it recommended to get into the Colle by playing ...e6 or any of the Anti-Colle variations recommended for Black? Would be very much grateful to some really useful pointers as to how the gameplan should be from Black's point-of-view.

i used to play Colle i am not a very good player.however saying that set up position you want to play and i will give it my best shot.:smile:i will play black or white.

starting out:the Colle by Richard Pallliser published by everyman chess. 2007.

Yes I heard about this book. And it sounds good I have play this in blitz games sometimes, I think vs a player that is 2000 and above you don't want to go for it. That is just my experience. For beginners this opening is very good, because the plans are simple enough and that maybe way its harder the farther up you go on the elo player tree.

Best lines against Colle are similar to a semieslav with inverted colors.As semieslav is quite solid,so is Colle,a modest and solid set up.So these positions will trend to equality unless facing wrong moves
