What are the meanings of CCRL/CEGT? I am new here.

Also, should I buy Rybka 2 now or wait for Rybka 3?

I believe CCRL stands for Computer Chess Rating List, but I could be wrong.  CEGT is Chess Engines Grand Tournament.    Rybka 3 might not be out for a while, so, if you need top level performance and analysis Now, then go ahead and purchase Rybka 2.  If you are happy with your current engines, or a free 2900 rated engine, then wait for the next version to come out and save some money.  I am still unsure of what exactly the improvements will be in the next version, besides the obvious expected increase in playing strength - Vas might have clarified this already but I have not been keeping up with the forum like I used to.

Thanks for the information.  I went ahead and purchased Rybka 2.3.2a MP.  So far its won 1 and tied 1 with Hiarcs 11.2 and won 1 and lost 1 to Fritz 10.  The first match I went with 512 Mb Hash Size of 1,654 Mb available RAM and the second match I went with 256 Mb Hash Size.  Rybka seems to do better with the 512 Mb Hash Size but this is a small sample so far.

If I upgrade Rybka annually, are there upgrade discounts usually offered?
