To Vas and Victor:
I'm not sure if I understand Victor's comments about Rybka 3.0. If there is no 64-bit version, then there will be every reason not to upgrade to 3.0, because we need a 64-bit version for the speed.
Vas, is it correct that your next upgrade to Rybka will put some emphasis on improving multi-core (including quad-core) performance?

He says the Rybka 3.0 GUI (=graphical user interface) will not be 64-bit. That's because the GUI, unlike the chess engine, wouldn't be any faster if it were 64-bit.
Of course, He referred only to the GUI.
By the way, there are some novelties about this new GUI? Maybe some new screenshots or some information about the last works?
Regards,
Gambito.

Dadi, thanks for the link to Vas' post on multi-core improvements coming up.
Gambitto:
"Victor only referred to the GUI." But if we have a 64-bit OS, we will not be able to use the Rybka 3.0 GUI, since we must have 64-bit OS if we want to run Rybka 64-bit engine.
Therefore, in that case, we won't be able to use the Rybka 3.0 GUI, or am I missing something?
Or can a 32-bit program, like the Rybka 3.0 GUI, run under a 64-bit OS?

Yes, I can confirm this last point now.
