*Two weeks later*

Position still looks losing, I managed to refute all my drawing ideas and have been looking for more. It's not that the position looks lost, it's that 20 moves down the line black reaches won positions, in all directions I've looked, and I refuse to make a move that I know loses like that.

Will keep looking.

no problem Uly... we're going for best possible moves...

i'm very busy anyway.. please don't feel any pressure whatsoever. :)

I probably just have to reach a position in where tomski1981 doesn't have enough time to find the winning move

i won't tell you i'm bored.. and i'm not convinced it's lost. i'm comfortable with the position, but i'm still nervous it could go in a direction where the ending will be extremely difficult.

i'll start to analyze this position now....

Dear Uly,

I'm sorry for this delay. I have been hoping i would be able to find some time to make a move. Truth be told, my position isn't a clear win... and so i need big chunks of time to analyze my move. I can't do any meaningful analysis if i only get 15 minutes here and 15 minutes there. However, because my daughter is becoming more active, i can't find the time i need to continue this game right now.

If you want, we can declare draw. Or, if you prefer, we can continue this game a few months down the road, when, i'm hoping, my daughter starts playing more by herself (or with some friends her age). As it stands now, she takes too much of my time, so i'm unable to play at the level i want.

So sorry to keep you in suspense...

regards,
tom

You don't have to apologize! You have your priorities straight and I admire that.

If you need a few months, or a few years down the line to continue this game, take as much as you need, I don't think it would be fair that we call a draw a game in where you played much better and have me in a near losing position. Don't worry, I'm patient and have many such games in where I'm waiting for my opponents to return in the future.

Good luck with your daughter, I hope one day I have one and live the meaningful experience

wife left last night.. this represents about 4 hours of analysis today...  (of course, not including the analysis i did while pondering your move. no analysis was done since i asked for this game to be postponed)

inspite of the scores, this game feels/seems like a draw.. let's see what happens!

Yup, I just played into this in the hopes that you played 42...Qf8, that I think I could defend. I'm going to take a good look at this, if I don't find such a possible deviation from your part, I may just resign because I haven't seen a way to draw it. But I hope I can find something.
Parent - - By tomski1981 (****) [ca] Date 2012-10-25 07:38
It was hard to throw away Qf8.. i had a lot of analysis.. but it seemed defendable

i'm confident if anyone can find a way to draw, it is you.

at this moment, i do not see a draw and i do not see a win..

Thanks for the game tomski, I've been looking very hard at the game since you moved, and I can't see a way out, all variations seem losing, I don't think I'll be able to save this, so I'm going to:

Resign

good game. i always like playing you, your games are always entertaining. i think you played solid chess.

two moves that i think gave me the edge were:

15.Be2 and 24.Qg3..  I wouldn't throw away this opening for white because of this result.. perhaps there are improvements to be made.

Thanks buddy!
