I just found out that windows can be installed on ps3. Sources say the cell processor can achieve a few trillion calculations per second. I will be getting a ps3 soon (hopefully) and will see myself. But I'm curious to the knps that Rybka will get on it. Anyone know anything about this?

Well I wouldn't get your hopes up. The cell is more about float performance than integer performance.

I bet my core duo laptop is faster.

yes, iirc the PS3 has a cell of what are essentially GPUs.  processing speed is probably 'just enough to get it done'. GPU performance is irrelevant to chess so you'd be looking at R4 on yr tv but much weaker than any laptop you might have.  that'd be my guess anyway. (probably not nearly 'weak' enough to be remotely beatable).

but if you continue plz post results, i'd be interested.
