This is a blitz game (1+2) that a friend of mine lost against Capablanca23, a user that it is classified number one in the Ludoteka site. We don't know what engine he is using, but I show you here the game to get some conclusions.

My friend was white and he was using a very strong engine in this game, (but only at 1 core) and was a little better in the middlegame. But during the whole game, Capa played some weird moves that no engine seems to play. For example, some really strange moves by Capa are: 18. f6!? instead of Axc5. Don't know what engine can play this strange move, because Nxg3 or Bxc5 seems to be much better for black. Also, 28. f4 instead of Bxc3 are not according with any engine that I know. Then, 31. Rd8 exchanging the rooks, and the move 37. Bf6 trying to exchange bishops are amazing in a blitz game! I also don't know what engine wants to exchange the rook and next his bishop in this position, but If you know what engine do it, please let me know.

When you analyse this game in the Fritz 12 GUI (ChessBase) and you hit the "Y" key 3x  or 4x  you get all the weird moves with most of the engines!
This way you get the next choice of the engine.

Next Best calculates the second best alternative for continuing. While the engine is calculating this information can be accessed faster by typing the key Y. At the beginning of the engine window the best line found so far is displayed.

Hint: The next best move option is only available while the engine is only analysing one line.

Oh, thanks for that hint. In this way I can look the engine prefering those weird moves. Anyway, it doesn't happened in this game where two engines were facing.

Gaмßito.

And here Bf6.
8/8/p3k2p/8/2pB1p1b/2P2P2/P1P1K1P1/8 b - - 0 37

Its a good move and Bf6 by white is shear blunder.
Parent - - By Gaмßito (****) Date 2010-09-27 14:10
Yes, Bf6 is a good move but exchange the bishops a big mistake.

Maybe the weirdest move is 18. f6!? but I really don't know what engine prefer this move.

Gaмßito.

I know that R4 can choose this move but only using the ''Y'' key in analysis. No way it can play f6!? in gameplay.

HarshQueen, the engine didn't use NextBest to choose the moves, that's what makes them interesting.

"Capablanca23" used a trick with an "Engine" i can't name here.

After 18. f6 Nd3, Capa never takes on g3 as your engine recommend. In fact, many engines wants to take the bishop on g3 but he never followed that plan.
