So we can start the game already, good luck and have fun!

By the way can you tell me about my inquiry of 23...Nf8 on the line I sent by private message and whether you have a refutation? You don't need to show the line, I'd take your word, but depending on your answer I may play differently as soon as we get out of book.
Parent - - By TheHug (Bronze) [us] Date 2010-09-24 23:10
Yes your are right 23...Nf8 Is a good move, I came up with a line after 23.Ndb5, that lead to and interesting endgame imbalance with 3 queen side pass pawns. Were I had a Queen vs 2 Knights vs a Queen vs a Rook and a Bishop. I had about 0.25-0.35, depend on what engine you look at. Probably a win if play was carefully and micromanaged, but never the least no kill shot line. Keep this in mind the line I gave was a sample. vs 2 other defense I came up with the same idea with descent results.

My first move will be

1.e4

Best of luck to you, I hope I can make this interesting to say the less.

P.S. That line I gave you, you was the only person to see it.

Yeah, thanks for the info, very useful for my metastrategy, I must be careful

You handle the Lopez and Italian pretty well, lets see what you have for the Scotch
- - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2010-09-25 00:47
Ahh, the Scotch was "my territory" back on my 1CPU days, mainly because of the huge material I had analyzed about it for my OTB games , though of course that was with very old engines and slower hardware, but I'm going to like this, I'll still rely on my old preparation from those days.

I'll be interested in what your plan here is. By the way just for a laugh, if your surprised I hadn't found a shock move yet. Just let you know that on move 9 I look at h4 in which the engines like h6 and on the engine I used before it liked g4 on the next move:lol::yell:. After looking at it for a while I rejected before I couldn't find a sound plan
Parent - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2010-09-29 06:36 Edited 2010-09-29 06:41
I don't have a plan, I've got nothing , all my previous analysis focused on drawing the game as black, which was basically useless , but I learned I have to avoid playing the Scotch like this if I want to win from the black side.

You simplified in record time, so unless you're going to push forward for a win, you may get an easy draw...

I threw the kitchen sink at 10...g5, but I found nothing, perhaps that would have been a more interesting game, but I'm not ready for big stakes.

I'm going to accept your conditional, but I'm still deciding on my next move, I'm at crossroads.

Sorry having computer problems and so other issues so I resign. When everything gets back in line I will sent you a message and hopful if you will want to play again some other time. When I can get back on.

Thanks for understanding,

Jimmy

No, sorry, resignation rejected! You can't throw all my analysis like that and I didn't spend all that time analyzing to "win" like this

I'll adjourn the game, we can continue it when things are in order on your side, otherwise the game would be meaningless.
Parent - - By TheHug (Bronze) [us] Date 2010-10-02 01:46
Sorry friend, don't take it like a slap in the face. If you felt like I did the last couple days you wouldn't feel like much playing chess.
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2010-10-02 02:08
I get it, I hope you resolve your situation, but if you're going to come back to play another game in the future, there's no reason to not continue this one. I'd have rather aborted the game, or accepted a draw request, but you resigning like that would have been unacceptable.

Good luck.
Parent - - By TheHug (Bronze) [us] Date 2010-10-02 02:31
Oh ok I understand now. Believe me when I say, I don't know all the right and wrong things about corr chess. I can understand its a bad idea to just resign out of the blue on someone that is probably putting a lot of time and energy into it. I don't know what slugdog thing was that was getting to him. But I guess you can say I know how it feels when something personal happens. When things came around I'll let you know. I hope what had happen today didn't make you to upset. Like I said I don't know out the in's and out's of things for corr chess. It was more of a knee jerk reaction. I consider you one of the cooler guys on the forum so sorry in advance. If It wasn't for being at a friend's house I wouldn't have said anything at all and I know that would have just been worst. So anyway good luck to you and all on the corr chess forum.

> I hope what had happen today didn't make you to upset.

I just was disconcerted as this was really unexpected, but I can't get upset since I know the cause of all this was outside of your control. You have been a true gentlemen in all the conversations that we've had, and you played splendid moves that I couldn't complicate despite by advantage in hardware on this game, so all I can say is that I send my best wishes and regards, and thank you for your time.
