Hello Chessfriends,

How can YOU win this position? It is possible? it's draw???
Engine Rybka4 says that white WIN this position, but it's true ? Black MOVE now..
What move BLACK should be?

1) f4?
2) Ke5?

Position seems won for white around here, black can't protect both the b6 pawn and the f5 pawn, once the white king goes to b5 the b6 pawn falls and the a pawn promotes (even in variations where black manages to promote a black pawn at the same time, the bishop and queen against queen seem enough for a win).

As for the best move, in a lost position it doesn't matter.

Hello Vytron,

Yes indeed black lost..

> (even in variations where black manages to promote a black pawn at the same time, the bishop and queen against queen seem enough for a win)

I check this... also black lost with promote pawn at the same time....

nice day,

Sekos

This doesn't look too good for Black:

Stockfish also says lost, but I think it is a draw.
Kd7 Ke3 f4+ is the starting sequence.

Actually, this one is better:
f4 Ke2 Ke5 ...
Parent - - By dcorbit (***) [us] Date 2010-08-14 00:02
I also think that Ke5 Ke3 f4+ ... will hold
I don't know why the programs have such enormous eval values.  I don't think it is possible to win with best play by both sides.

I'm giving it to Zappa for a while.  It is slower than other top engines but plays endgames well.  I'll report later.
