What punishment Vasik is going to give to strelka author for decompiling rybka code and using it in his program.

The jury is still undecided on whether the code was used. It seems that he used some data block for tuning the engine.
I propose that Vas should be allowed to examine Strelka code to judge for himself, but I am pretty sure he has much better things to do than to crib about this incident.
AFAIK, Vas is not worried that someone created an engine around 100-200 ELO below his masterpiece.
He would rather improve his engine again, and raise the benchmark- he has more important engines like Hiarcs and Fruit 2.3 to worry about ;-)

Are you joking? What can he do? Travel to Russia and sue him?

Nothing. Actually, I would be more annoyed if I spent 2500 hours on my engine and Strelka was sitting above it in a rating list.

Vas,
Don't worry, your engine is still ruling the ratings by a large margin, although others seem to pick up the pace,

I hope you are coding in a dark basement with no internet connection regards,
Varun

A s far as I know Strelka author is not going to compete with Rybka and to use Rybka parts in future developments.
