Don't you think you'd have better luck at the Lokasoft (ChessPartner) forum?

>what site you play on?

FICS, as he said.

I thought all the best books were available in CTG format. I also thought the only place to get a good engine-engine game is the playchess engine-room.

How is any of that relevant to this topic? ChessPartner can't use ctg so that's out, and the original poster evidently feels FICS is good enough.

>I thought all the best books were available

Well, you thought wrong. Most of the people with good books don't want to share them. And most of the available ctg books are outdated, even if they might have been good when they were released.

He is stating his opinion/intentions/viewpoint. I'm also stating my opinion/viewpoint. That's what public forums are for.

The rybkaII.ctg is made from games on the playchess server as well as other sources. If you were less snotty you might have noticed a link posted here where a Takker book and other books from June/July 2007 are available. If June/July 2007 is outdated you must be living in the future. Not only are quality books available but quality games available.

And if I hadn't been fool enough to trust you, I wouldn't have downloaded Takker's TourbookII from the link I had noticed earlier. Dated March 2006. There's HS_for_rybka.ctg, but I assume your pluralization was just a lie, too. Please note my use of the word most; perhaps you were too snotty to notice it?

To get back on topic, here's a guide on creating CP books. PolyGlot is another option; I hear the new book by Salvo Spitaleri is quite good, but nobody has posted any results with the non-corrupt version yet.
