Hi Vas, Larry and the Rybka team!
I'm just wondering if the Rybka version playing in the Mains chess 960 challenge will be made available to the Rybka customers. Being a fan of Chess960 this would be very, very cool.

Yes, it would be very cool, I agree :-) But I don't think we'll see it. It would be another support burden for Convekta, and of course all customers would want it just in case it plays standard chess better than 2.3.2a. Vas has already said no more 2.x versions, the foucs is on 3.x now
As illogical as it sounds, if he could make it ONLY play Chess960 and not standard chess, then we might have a chance of seeing it

Standard chess is a subset of Chess960, so that won't work. (Ie. if you hit the standard chess position by chance, the rules are identical to standard chess from there.)

Yes - so as I said I don't think we'll see it

We'll probably wait for Rybka 3. Release means testing, etc. Generally, we're going to slow down now with the releases.

Vas
