this is information which everyone wants to know.to spell it out can it beat all opposition on equal hardware.
As I already stated before- I am financial unable to be optimistic with R4, especially if it is predicted to be obsolete in six months. I don't know how many others are in the same boat as I am.
I should qualify my statement with- I wouldn't mind putting my saving into an upgrade in hardware if I knew R4 was advanced in analysis- if that is going to now be R4's niche in the future of computer chess - then it is worth the buy.

yeah ok,got the message.
You don't think the my post was appropriate? It is too late for me to delete it.
to me all your posts are fine.
At 8CPU definitively, this gets more unclear as you remove more cores. I'd say at 1CPU ponder off, repeating time controls, yes, but at game in X an optimal value hasn't been found.
I think R4 will be stronger than all legit engines in all conditions.

Would never deem to speak for, Paul- and he most certainly can correct me if I am wrong, but I think he has his heart set on beating certain other engines - may be it would be safe to say - all chess engines across the board.
