It's not consistent. (requires 800x600 res to test)

The image looks fine and NOT stretched.
When I reposted the image:

The same image looks stretched down and ugly.
Why is this, and is there a way to disable the stretching?

it's because the first picture is attached.
Okay thanks, but the scrollbar that appears below non attached pictures makes me think that not resizing was the intended behavior of all pictures.
Actually, the problem was not the downsizing, but the terrible pixelated way Firefox does it.
On Google Chrome the downsizing still happens, but the resizing algorithm is so good that I had to open the image in a new window to compare the difference in size. I still find it weird that attached images are allowed to remain current size while off-site images are resized, but I consider this "problem" solved after switching browsers.
