Prices were supposed to be falling if they have not already fallen so why would you expect the forum reader who is more likely to be knowledgeable of these things to get your second hand goods? Is he/she getting real value for money?

You would be surprised at putting in those details in google and searching. You get cheaper products with 3 year warranty. According to one news source (hothardware.com):-

Intel Corp. made an announcement today to cut prices for some processors over a period of three months starting next month in order to regain market share from AMD Inc. Intel plans on reducing the price of the Core 2 Quad processor by 50% on July 22. The move will pressure AMD to reduce prices too and probably comes as a response to the upcoming launch of AMD’s own quad-core processors, the Phenom, which will arrive in the second half of 2007.

Good things indeed come to those who wait. :)

I have forgotten which dealer (it was an advertisement in the newspaper), but I saw a QX6700 processor advertised here in the United States for around $300.
