Hi,
I want to create a bin book from a large pgn file, and I want to choose for max ply 200.
The problem is that I get the error message not enough space.
The max ply can't be bigger than 76 ply in my particular case.
What can I do to solve this problem.
Do I need a bigger hard disk?
Do I need more memory?
I don't think I can use an external hard disk because polyglot need to be in the same drive then my windows system.
Can someone give me some useful advise please.
Regards, Jonathan

Reading your error
First check out the hardisk space.

a) Probe less max-ply, over than cca 80 is untimely.
b) Over min-game (for big database) and probe whithout min-score, or less min-score.

Which polyglot version you using? I had problems with polyglot and generating a book from really big pgn, with inability to set more than 1.5GB of RAM (on 4GB comp). Linux polyglot version works really good, no errors even for 2-3 GB sized pgn's.And is this really needed to go for such ply limit?
Hi urodets,
I use polyglot1.4w25 for windows, (http://www.geenvis.net/)
I have a 2GB ram laptop.
I have a dual-boot system: windows 7 64 bit and windows vista 32 bit.
I want to keep my vista 32 bit system because a lot off pgn utility's and other chess tools like obk2pgn, and fgcrwnew, a use work only on a 32 bit system.
I want to try the Linux polyglot version.
Where can I download it?
I have no experience with Linux at all.
Can I install a Linux system next to My windows 7 and windows vista?
I have two partitions: C where I installed windows 7 and D where I installed windows vista.
I want such a high ply limit because I want to use the bin books to extract to pgn files, to create tactics from, (with the blundercheck function of fritz).
