Hi,

I like to know if their will be winfinder versions for 3.0 or you guys will concentrate on normal rybka? :)

It's not clear yet. It depends on a number of things, including how strong tactically Rybka 3.0 is.

Even if it seems unnecessary due to Rybka 232a’s superb tactical strength (and I’m happy to have such an all-around top-level chess engine), could you say how, if possible, to change Rybka232a’s parameters so that it is more like a Winfinder, i.e., looks harder at forcing lines and concentrates more on the resources of the side to move but with same evaluations ? Increase contempt and optimism? How much?

The reason is that many submasters like myself typically prepare for other amatuer opponents and we wouldn’t mind sometimes seeing dangerous (to opponent) move suggestions– even if ultimately unsound but hard to refute -  that can scare & stump.

There isn't really a good way to do this with Rybka 2.3.2a. This version is on the positional side.

You can do a little bit by increasing the optimism, this will take you maybe 15% of the way towards the WinFinder style of search.
