Topic Rybka Support & Discussion / Rybka Discussion / Montecarlo analysis in Fritz 12 GUI (crash position problem)
I have planned a position proposed by the Chessbase (puzzle of Christmas) in Montecarlo Analysis on Fritz 12:
move to the white: draw
I have used Rybka 3 as engine (Fritz12 engine doesn't support Montecarlo option).
The GUI crash. The CPU works to 100% in continuation and are visualized the move of the start position. But the
analysis don't start.
With other position, Montecarlo Analysis works, don't create to me problems (it is alone some slow to start).
Someone has tried the Montecarlo function with Fritz 12 GUI?

I can't answer your question, but solve that position :)
1.Rb1 cxb 2.Bxb1 e3 3.Bxf5 e2 4.Bg4 e1Q 5.h3 draw
Nunn's idea 1.Rh8 Kg4 2.h3 Kf4 3.Rf8 doesn't work because of 3...Ke5 4.Re8 Kd6 5.Kd8 Ke7 6.Rd5 Bxh3 7.Kxh3 c1Q winning.

ok thank for your analysis. But I don't understand because Montecarlo Analysis in Fritz 12 GUI crash only in this position. strange .. perhaps because I have little ram? but I don't believe
I don't know, I don't use that GUI and never use MonteCarlo/the Randomizer.
why don't you use a trusted GUI?
Don't use sw from Chessbase.
Don't use sw from Chessbase.
The Fritz GUI isn't bad, there are alternatives of course, but it's one of the best out there.
I have had the same experience. It does work, when you limit the number of engines (default is the number of cores available) to 1.
I vaguely remember having read about this problem before, so I believe it is a known bug.

BenVan thanks. This hope can help me. I in effects I used 2 cores. The option "number engines" me the imposed to 2. I will now try to 1.
