General
-------
Cyclone xTreme II is a very strong UCI chess engine based on Fruit 2.1,
Toga II 14beta5c, Grapefruit 1.0, Toga CMLX 145e4, and Cyclone 3.4 that
also plays Fischer Random Chess (also known as Chess 960).

This release comes with an Intel compiled PGO Windows executable and
Windows compatible source code.

Description:
------------
Cyclone xTreme II plays normal chess as well as Fischer Random Chess
(Chess 960). To play Fischer Random, enable UCI option UCI_Chess960.

Cyclone xTreme II can use a configuration file (cyclone.cfg) to obtain and
save almost 160 eval, material, search, and transposition table
parameters.

The program will write a default configuration file...just type 'default'
at the command prompt....the chess engine should play extremely strong
utilizing this configuration.

The cyclone.cfg file can be manually edited...using any (plain text)
word processor...Wordpad, Notepad, vi, etc.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

i want to say you are very interesting.what do you think of this engine??
weak ,very strong or very stupid???
which  one  you do want to choose according to your test?

No configuration file is created using Fritz11 GUI or Aquarium.
What must I do to create it?
Parent - - By Graham Banks (*****) [nz] Date 2009-09-20 07:54
Doubleclick on the exe and type "default", then press enter. It will create the default configuration file.
Parent - By Overlord (**) [it] Date 2009-09-20 08:30
OK, it works.
Thank you ;)

Anyone know if cyclone xtreme II uses more than 1 thread? I have a core i7 with HT off and when i look at my task manager i only see 1 process for cyclone engine. When i run rybka i see 4 processes for it in the task manager.
Parent - By dinosaur123 (*) [cn] Date 2009-09-20 11:23
cyclone xTreme II support  32 threads (max)!
Parent - - By chessprofessional (**) [rs] Date 2009-09-20 11:14
What is source? What can i do with source??
Maybe copy all from source and inport in direcrory where is engine??
Parent - By Overlord (**) [it] Date 2009-09-20 11:18
Generally speaking, "source" is the program listing written in some programming language (C++ for example).
It is only for those that want to look inside.

No use at all for 99.9999999999999% users

it has been reported  by Ruxy on Talkchess that the earlier release: cyclone xTreme II Sep 17 2009 00:21:38
is extremely strong! (#3 after R3 and N4!)
- - By dinosaur123 (*) [cn] Date 2009-09-19 06:48
who can test Cyclone xTreme II  to see if it can defeat R3?
Parent - - By Czar (*) [us] Date 2009-09-19 06:54 Edited 2009-09-19 07:06
Cyclone is weaker than R3, even if it has stolen some ideas from Ben Lau, (Allegedly that Ben Lau has claimed that his engine to the strongest, but he will not release the ultimate engine publicly even if he could do that easily.)
Parent - - By dinosaur123 (*) [cn] Date 2009-09-19 07:00 Edited 2009-11-11 18:27
but I  think this one is super cyclone.you'd better test it to R3.

My Rybka 3 wants to play 19 ...Qh2, not ...Qb8, considered by Rybka 3 to be inferior.

THIS GAME shows how weak the engine Ciclone x. I stop testing this creature. And you cease to be kidding with rybka 3 more.

according to the test,Do you mean that Cyclone xTreme II could defeat R3?
Parent - - By Carl Bicknell (*****) [gb] Date 2009-09-19 18:12
OK, I've now had time to do some more testing. I'm getting +50-60 elo over Cyclone 3.4!
Pretty good.

The version from 17 September is fantastic strong ! Seems to me to be the third engine in the world (w32/1CPU/long time control ).
