Download Scid from here:

http://scid.sourceforge.net/

I currently don't have it installed but you just import a PGN and tell it to create a crosstable, then you can copy and paste it. If you can't find out how I'll install it tomorrow.

So very simply with SCID, a few moments for the creation of a table, we await with joy the update to Top 10!
Parent - By Uly (Gold) Date 2009-07-05 13:48
ELO was made for constant strength participants while books have relative strength (the weakest in some circumstances could be the strongest in others). I don't see anything wrong about having it as a reference point, though.

sorry i'm new to this, so is yograj 2.4 v1.1 better than bouudha lean even though bouudha lean is #1 on your  newest top 5?

Yograj 2.4 v1.1 had a slightly better rating performance against their opponents in their short era (26-27. 06.) on the No.1 position (and on the No.5 position...), but he was dropped from the Top 5, and now (currently) the best book here is Bouudha lean... :-)

im just giving you different kind of statistics and rating lists... as much as possible

on the top post you can also see the record statistics

which book is best you can decide

im currently heading towards titielmago for its very stable results against alot of Top 5 books and its public!
and poker 1.3 for sure outlasted every top 5 always with a nice result but thats private
Parent - By Jonas (****) Date 2009-07-06 01:21
imo the hardest thing is to stay inside this top 5

Interestingly, Fx7 1.1 is very well optimized against Bouddha lean (6.5 - 3.5, for Fx7), it mostly affects on the current placement...
Parent - - By Jonas (****) Date 2009-07-06 01:47
yes, but it was clear bouddha falls a bit down when titielmago falls out because it scored 7-3 against it.
Fx7 is quite a bit more safe:
- its worst result is against salvo which will always be a bit in danger to fall because it scored very weak against poker who tends to stay inside somehow. if poker falls an era will end. (but lets not underestimate salvo, imo its very strong with black.. btw poker would also be in troubles if salvo falls)
- its best result is against bouddha which is a good book and might be hard to get kicked, also because only few games of it have been released yet (its important to score good against books that score good against others)
- it scored well the current 2nd

note that fx7 1.1 was released before i uploaded the games.. so its really a nice achievement

Well, I think old rejected books could have another chance against a set of 5 new books they didn't fight previously, it'd be interesting to see a book that is able to enter just because the competition is different.

Heck if I know. What Moonrider has done is upload the book on his website, I do not know if that is the same as I have not checked. I know the original download link can be found at our forum.
Parent - - By Moonrider (**) Date 2009-07-08 11:20
but if they can read, they will have noticed that I was there thanks for the download in the Forum of Brandon.

Thanks. There was just a question about the book you had uploaded on your site. I did not check it so I was unsure what you had done. :)

The Apocalypse book is on my site directly from Brandon,  He has published in his forum. (132MB unpacked) Book Settings and Other Special info.txt of Brandon included!
I only said it differently compressed 64-bit 7-Zip and removed the password.
Parent - - By samosa000 (**) Date 2009-07-08 15:39
hi moonrider,

i downloaded the apocalypse book both from ur site and eliasgino site. and after unzipping i saw that both are 132 mb.
which means both are same and original. i think the compression method changed the size.
i must appreciate ur work for arranging all the good books in one place in ur site so that we dont have to keep on searching them here and there. good job by eliasgino too.
Parent - By Moonrider (**) Date 2009-07-08 15:49 Edited 2009-07-08 15:53
I have a higher compression rate selected, so that you can download faster, so it is with me only 39.8 mb packed.
