I was hoping to show that white is quite fine here (I think that I have this almost worked out to a draw), but I might not get the opportunity in doing this myself, as I will go out of town for a long period on Wednesday, and even though I'll have access to the Internet, I won't have my "chess computer" with me.  Thus, I'll just state here: I think that I have this worked out almost to a draw, and I have definitely worked it out to a draw (by third repetition) in the main lines. :-)

great then... your white you should find a way to win
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2009-06-23 03:03
Awaiting black's move...(though I won't be making any moves after Wednesday morning).  I don't think there is a way to win, as black played a fairly safe variation of this.  White doesn't have anything to worry about, though.

great opening u chose there! best you can get is draw
Parent - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2009-06-23 20:10
That's true with all openings.  With this one, if black screws up, which can easily happen in some lines, he loses.  Instead, black played safe, but with no chances for black to win, either.

cant quite yet find the win by force, but it is going that way.
Parent - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2009-07-05 03:03
I had found a forced draw before I left for being out of town.  Black went for the drawing line early, and that's the best that white can do.

I feel like I'm stepping in a deep hole here.  R3 1-cpu and R3 4-cpu are not agreeing on this.  Don't know which to trust. <laugh>

I got tired of waiting for R4 so I bought the upgrade to CA10 w/Deep Rybka last week.  Finally got it installed and am now experimenting with it.  So far it looks like I could probably cook a cajun jambalaya better.  I will persevere though.
Parent - - By keoki010 (Silver) [us] Date 2009-07-06 21:05
Sure wish I could spell persevere without going to the dictionary.
