Why are you and Jonas playing both sides?
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2009-06-15 09:30 Edited 2009-06-15 09:33
What sides? Akrura, and deka aren't from Jonas's side either, they just jumped in and moved, just like turbojuice1122, Jonas ninjaed me at moving after him so my moved ended up being White.

The game popped out of nowhere without rules nor anything, and thus, isn't played for fame or comming up with the best moves or setting up traps, it may be purely for fun, that's what I'd call a casual correspondence chess game where finally one doesn't play to just win (it wouldn't make sense trying to win when the next n00b on the block can take over your side and blunder.)

Or maybe I'm getting the whole concept wrong (that's what happens with only chess moves and no communication), but I like it.

White and Black.

Then again, this is the flip side. For all I know, the game might not even be chess. :)
Parent - By Jonas (****) [at] Date 2009-06-15 17:06
just an experimemt. we will see where it leads us to. for now its interesting and funny

<sarcastic remark pointing out that we're on Chess section here>

<ironic comment clarifying that it started on the flip side but was moved to Chess (not by Vytron) back at 4.Sbd2 here>

Indeed, you have to make it bold for it to work.
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2009-06-15 20:42
No, please refer to the first moves on this thread, they weren't bold, and counted.
Parent - - By Vempele (Silver) [fi] Date 2009-06-15 20:54
No, it's only the non-standard format moves you have to bold.
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2009-06-15 21:18
Oh, so you have access to the thread's rules? Please link me!

Parent - - By Vempele (Silver) [fi] Date 2009-06-15 21:26
Sorry, but they're secret. :-p
Parent - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2009-06-15 21:28
Well then, I'll branch from the first move onwards so we end in a new thread without those secret rules.

Done. I also used the new Seamless Branching so you won't notice the difference

At some point I don't trust book moves because there are too few games to be reliable, so I'm the first one to leave book.

> At some point I don't trust book moves because there are too few games to be reliable, so I'm the first one to leave book.

There's some canonical book that determines everybody's in-bookness? And it's composed of games?
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2009-06-15 21:31
I think out of book refers to "Have you fired up your engines yet" or something to that effect.
Parent - - By Vempele (Silver) [fi] Date 2009-06-16 14:13

Well, then I'm always in book when playing OTB/ICS and out of book otherwise. :)
