1) Exactly what each preset task does?

2) How to create a new preset task (not just modifying parameters are preset tasks.

You can learn by experimenting. Change the parameters one by one and try. That is what I did.

Thanks. This page shows me options for modifying CURRENT custom tasks that are listed. How do I create a NEW custom task that can be pulled down in the menu?

"The Tree Generation Strategies are defined in XML files which are stored in AquariumData\IDeA\Strategies . If you create your own Tree Generation Strategy, place the XML file in this directory and Aquarium will find it (no need to restart Aquarium)."
