What ever happened to the weekly free games download at ChessOK?
They seem to have stopped in mid 8/2019.

I don't know the answer... I always got my games from TWIC.  They post both pgn and Chessbase format (the last time I visited... a couple of months ago).

I will have to get games from TWIC, which offers two formats--.pgn & .cbv. Have you been importing TWIC games into Aqr's Hugebase db, and if so, which format do you use?

No.  I use Chessbase for my database needs.  So I get the Chessbase format and merge it in... it is a rather convoluted process that I go thru to try and insure duplicate games are removed, and I only do it a couple of times a year.  When I do it, I go on a binge download of the TWIC site.

I had also given up, but I note that the Chess OK Download free games service is back now ( Jan 2021 ) and it has the archives back to 2011 as well
