Hi All,
I have been getting ready to make changes to my cooling setup that I am using ATM .... and while awaiting delivery of new items decided to do away with the 2 reservoirs and run the 2 pumps inline from the water in the container inside the small chest freezer.

I decided to take everything apart for a clean and found 1 problem with not having a fully sealed loop which was finding quite a build up of cat hair in the waterblock  ... We have 2 cats and just goes to show without noticing how easily a problem can crop up.

Anyway after taking everything apart and cleaning it all I put the first pump my 20 year old one in the water in the freezer but then got side tracked and did not go into the computer room for 2 days or so ..... I went in there tonight  to finish connecting the tubing etc only to find that I had left the freezer on for the 2 days and upon opening the chest freezer to find that the water pump was encased in ice hahahhahahahhaa so much for the anti freeze or more to the point my fault I had not used enough

I spent the next 2 hours with a hammer and screwdriver chipping away the ice with the Mrs giving me one of those `you are an idiot`looks  ..... Once I got the pump free it was obvious that all the water in it and the attached one way valve was frozen :red: so to get it working ASAP it was time to boil the kettle and run not water over the pump and into the one way valve and in seconds the problem was solved. Reconnected the rest and up and running again without the 2 reservoirs in the above post ....
Goes to show what odd issues you can get when you do your own thing  Attached pic is of min and max temps with this setup

Now you see why I would rather use more chassis fans and run the box at stock speeds.

My R5 2400G is 46W with the GTX 1060 installed and it also is a measy 120W loaded

My AX860i seems to be overkill

I love the min temps. Is it a concern though that it will deep below 0° C and you will get condensation on your mainboard causing a short?

Vegan there are no chassis fans simply because there is no case and it is not running at stock speeds. ATM i am using speedstep which of course drops speeds, voltage and temps when on the internet but as soon as I use say chessbase and and fire up an engine then all cores run at full speed which at the moment is set at 4.7Ghz (47x100) with the needed jump in CPU voltage

Hi Labyrinth, You are correct my friend and it does not need to go below 0° C to get condensation, simply getting well below the rooms ambient temp will do the trick a bit like cooking dinner in a hot kitchen on a cold winters day when you get condensation on the windows or at least something like that lol

I have the freezer turned off to try and warm the water up but with it in effect a giant cold box this does not happen quickly so I have protection in place just in case

My god, I can't believe I wrote that post. Obviously temperature under _ambient_ is what causes condensation, not 0° C, and I also wrote 'deep' instead of 'dip'. I'm losing my marbles ;-(

Hi Labyrinth, I bet no one noticed until you pointed it out :grin: .... I tend to think about what I am going to write before I have actually finished typing the preceding information so when I look at the text there are missing words which as you say can make me look like I am losing my marbles or that I am simply an idiot   .... Lets not get started on predictive text on our mobile phones  I have never recovered from sending the mother in law a text which was simply a reply to her asking if I got my clock which is a vinyl record (our business) lazer cut in a design of chess pieces (I will upload a pic) /// I text back or at least I thought did `I am holding my clock in my hands right now` ........ The problem was my phone and I am blaming the phone left out the letter L in the word CLOCK :red::roll::surprised::eek:

I use Corsair cases and power supplies, the cases are low cost but i use the AX860i which was the flagship before more powerful models were released

With front intake fans and rear/top exhaust, my box is cool enough to last longer than me
