Stockfish 9 has a default contempt of 20. Using SF 9 in IDeA for opening analysis it gives fluctuating evaluations, depending if white or black made the last move of the line in the tree.
Is it better to set the contempt tot 0 again when using IDea??

Someone may be able to tell what you want to know here, however it would be better if posted in the "Aquarium" forum.
I like to know if contempt should be set at 0 or 20 when using IDeA.
zero
This is posted on the Stockfish forum:
Contempt Integer, Default: 0, Min: -100, Max: 100
Roughly equivalent to "optimism." Positive values of contempt favor more "risky" play, while negative values will favor draws. Zero is neutral.

Yes, except it defaults to 20, not 0. I think the information posted in their forum is either out-of-date or mistaken.
I change the 'Contempt' myself to '0' and so far that has what it has remained at?
Sure, if you change it, then it is no longer the default value. Funny thing, I actually use the same parameters for both Stockfish 8 and 9. They don't seem to mind. And I too have contempt set to zero. But when I first started 9 in Chessbase, I noticed the default to 20, so I had to change it there.
I figured out what is causing the crash (exception) on my system, if a notification comes in while 9 is running in Chessbase, it will throw an exception. It does not seem to affect Aquarium and 9 though. Weird. No problem though, I don't get that many notifications.

I think they/someone has found that Stockfish plays better with 'Contempt' set at 20 when it is playing against other engines at Blitz speed or something!
It helps the ratings etc, etc, which I myself do not care about or even consider as chess. Unless all the 'testers' are using the very best hardware with loads of cores etc.etc. (which they are not) their rating list means little to me; even
when the rating/time is done for LTC, (which I consider to be a better marker)
I note that the latest dev versions of Stockfish are now set at Contempt 18 !

Would it be nice if it was possible to set contempt to one colour in IDeA?
By that one can create an agressive (correspondence) opening repertoire with white and another for black.
