I have a game.
I create a new idea tree and link it to the game without running IDeA yet.
The first root is somewhere in the middle game.
I set up as a custom task, one of the new prolongation strategies, ie. "Wide_alt10_depth5.xml" at the 1st root position.
The custom task is added as expected but IN ADDITION, EVERY MOVE STARTING FROM 1ST MOVE TO THE ROOT gets a new task too!
I have to remove each of the unwanted tasks manually.
Is this a bug?

It's not a bug, it's a feature...

Seriously, don't remove those tasks.
Let them make their silly evaluations of 1. e4 or whatever.

Prior versions of Aquarium were plagued with infinite lockups at the minimax stage that were caused by disconnected root nodes, and I'm pretty sure the functionality you are describing was added to avoid that situation. Those intermediate evaluations allow minimax to back-propagate all the way to the initial position. If you start in the middle of a game and then move or remove the initial node then you might discover why the program has been made to act this way.

I also strongly recommend right clicking on the tree window and setting "Add moves to tree" to "Always", as this can further help to avoid the creation of a disjointed tree.
