I remember that Fritz 8 was recommended for Rybka, as the differences from Fritz 9, 10 or 11 are negligible, so you might as well buy the most inexpensive.

You'd only want to get Fritz 11 for the Fritz 11 engine (then again, some people like Fritz 10 better, as it has a more interesting playing style, and is "the king of king attacks.")

Another reason for Fritz 8 is that people have said it has far, far fewer bugs than the more recent versions.
