Interestingly here my Rybka did not find20...d5 which is very strong based on the king being in the center(Larry your version is GOOD!)

In this position how many programs out there play what I think is the brilliant  20...d5 that was played in the game by this special Rybka version? My 2.3.2a NEVER comes up with this move which almost appears intuitive.I get:

None of my main pets play d5, and those that want to play it prefer to play Qc3+ first, are you sure that d5 is the best move?

Fritz 9 plays it.
The other ones I tested don't even have it in the top 5.

With regard to Vytron's question: I don't think anyone will be able to proove whether this is the best move or not. It might even be a defect of Rybka 2.99z that it plays this. I think a GM would have to think carefully about it - it makes the Bc8 bad and it's not totally clear how black is breaking through.

That's true but maybe the engine likes the fact that the king is slightly exposed but either way it looks like a human move to me relying on intuition more so.So I guess it's a HUMAN move.To me this is deep and shows the level to which this new Rybka is playing(it's not 3.0 yet)or maybe she was playing at a high contempt level, what you say Larry?

I am curious about your hardware.  How do  you like the Phenom?  How is it performing against the Q6600's?  Is it stable?  Thanks in advance.
Parent - By FWCC (***) [us] Date 2008-03-07 14:38 Edited 2008-03-07 14:42
Well I have to say I am slightly disappointed.I should have gone with Intel Quad or Core 2 Duo even, however the price is good for Phenom Quad under $900.00US includes monitor lol,by the way I figured Mexico would come up with this move I did not try Mexico.
