Is there going to be a Deep Fritz 13?
I heard mid May
It probably will be at Free Rybka strength.
Blitz:5 minutes/game, 5-piece Nalimovs, pondering, 256 MB hash 1 Rybka 2.3.2a mp 32-bit +28/=87/-25 51.07% 71.5/140 (Rybka 3 book, 1 core) 2 Fritz 13 +25/=87/-28 48.93% 68.5/140 (Deep Fritz 12 book)
Hopefully much weaker than free Rybka if Rybka 3 goes free soon.

You think R3 will be free soon?
Either at when Rybka 5 is released or when Rybka 6 is released, unless Vas has changed his mind about the issue (he wanted to have a top freeware engine as well, but now Critter would ruin those plans.)
hmmmm and Rybka 6 will be out soon you think ?? :-)
If "soon" is the wrong word to use in that sentence then I blame Vas for it.
Rybka 2.3.2a is freeware now that Rybka 4 is around, so the free version is 2 versions behind, I think it makes sense to make Rybka 3 freeware as soon as Rybka 5 is released.

Fritz is the most common chess software in the world and it is weak because of being suitable for human to play with.
Otherwise they can make it more powerful easily.

Is there any positive effect on Fritz strength if I update my WinXP 32bit to 64bit?
The Fritz GUI will work exactly the same in both. If you mean the Fritz engine then no - there is no 32 and 64 bit version of Fritz so you would use the same engine in either. It is only engines that have 32 and 64 bit versions (like Rybka or Houdini) that will benefit from a 64 bit windows operating system, as then you can use the 64 bit engine which is faster

No positive effect at all because Fritz is a 32-bits engine. So in a 64-bits environment it will run exactly at the same speed also.
Gaмßito.
