Hello, I have recently downloaded Uly's recommendations for 6-man tablebases, and now I want to check they're all ok.
A bit of internet searching shows there was a program called Wilhelm that checked tablebase integrity, though all the links I found were to long dead Geocites sites.
Does anyone know where I can get the latest version, or another program that would test my tablebase integrity.
Many thanks,
Kem

Try using Total Commander and MD5 files. Look for chess site @ post http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=24461#pid405562
I think that most Nalimov generated TBs are the same files...

There is a simple but nice tool by Sune Fischer, author of Frenzee which does the md5-check for the Nalimov tablebases:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/gke4ghze01e9g7e/Tools.zip
From the readme file:
"Md5Checker is a small utility for verification of the Nalimov endgame tables.
Place the Md5Checker.exe and the corresponding *.md5 file(s) in the same folder as the endgame tables you want to verify.
Run the exe and press the "verify" button in the dialog that appears."

Also here is a link for Wilhelm 1.50:

Forgive me, but what are .md5 files?
Files with checksums, so you can validate the correctness of a file.
On my chess site, I post MD5 files for all of the torrents and I have a single MD5 for the whole 6 piece set as well.
Look on the download page for all the MD5 files
