In a new system I'm having built, I had planned on getting
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL         
However, I see that many chess and gaming systems have much more RAM these days.
1) Can I use 24 or 32 GB of RAM in chess programs, especially IDeA?
2) If so, how would I buy the RAM (N X what GB?) and what RAM is recommended?
