Heads up!!
This is an exciting and innovative tour format for Freestyle:

Registration now open, closes Thursday 19th April 2012 21:00 ST

All players competing in a 2 weekends knockout tour.

Max. 64 players.
64 >32 >16 >8 >4 >2 >1 = 6 Mini Matches.

All games of a mini-match (one White & one Black game) will be played on one day.
The maximum number of games per day:
2 x 30m+10s
2 x 15m+ 5s (tie-break)
1 x 10m+3s vs. 7m+3s (sudden death )

Pairings according to Freestyle ratings; e.g.:
No. 1 vs. No. 64 (or vs. No. 32)
No. 2 vs. No. 63 (or vs. No. 31)
No. 3 vs. No. 62 (or vs. No. 30) etc.

Higher rated players get a bye in 1st round, if the number of entries is lower then 64 (or accordingly 32).
Lower rated players may choose the colour in their sudden death game (if both players unrated or with the same rating, the colour will change according to last game played before).

All players stay in the tournament until the end. If a player loses a match, he will start new in a lower class and will be paired to another player who lost his match. The winner of that match will again be paired to another player of roughly the same level.

Start times for all games: 23:00 server time!
No changes possible, neither day, nor time!

Saturday, April 21st
Sunday, April 22nd
Friday, April 27th
Saturday, April 28th
Sunday, April 29th
(If starting with 32 players, then the last tour day would be Saturday April 28th.)

Prizes
1st prize: 700,- US$
2nd prize: 200,- US$
3rd and 4th prize: 700,- Fini
All players with 3 or more match wins: 200,- Fini
All players with 2 match wins: 100,- Fini
(Only one prize per player possible.)
Fini is the server currency, 10 Fini = 1 US$.
Fini can be converted to US$, if 1'000 Fini or more.

No stand-alone engines allowed.

Tour Rules as published on InfinityChess website apply as far as no other rules published inside tour room.

Players withdrawing unexcused will lose their Fini accounts. Players forfeiting a single match will lose 200 Fini.
