black has to be very very careful in all open games, very especially during the first part of the opening and development, in particular when you are facing this playing style.

No way, Paul just destroyed me in the Sicilian recently, I don't think I'll play it again in a while.

Also, my current main line goes to a draw, playing for a draw as black has never been my style.

What's the record? I mean, I see 28 different moves tried after the obvious 1. e4 c5 (and 1...e5, for that matter), you probably have some games with the missing 2. Ke2 but 2. Ba6 seems unlikely...

I clearly prefer White side here. I don't think the game is already won, but Black must fight quite hard in the short future to hold the game, even part of it. Absolutely surprising to me these clock differences, given the position...

Isn't Nf1 kind of a "usual" move in the Ruy? I'm pretty sure I have played that intending to reposition? I was going to say squares, but have to be careful.

yes 7...bb7 instead of 0-0 or d6... usual is bb7 on move 9... so no need for preparatory h3 is the difference.  also bc2 may not have to be played voluntarily... however my book notes that it is simply a +/= position - of course a very nuanced game
