The latest beta version of WinBoard now lists the moves that have been excluded from analysis, in a new header line in the Engine-Output window. You can toggle the exclusion state of the moves listed there by clicking on them. (They remain listed there, even if you re-include them; they just get listed with a '+' sign in that case.)

There will always be items 'none' and 'best' in this header, which you can use to reset all exclusions (i.e. include all moves), or exclude the current best move (first move of latest PV), respectively. You can click 'best' a number of times to quickly build a list of relevant excluded moves (manual multi-PV, as it were), and then use the list to re-enable the moves you want the engine to consider. This is often easier than entering the moves you want to exclude through the board (by a double-click drag).
The pseudo-move 'tail' is also always present, to allow you to toggle the exclusion state of all unlisted moves. It does not alter the state of any listed move. If there are no included listed moves, excluding the tail leaves the current best move included (and it will be added to the list with a '+'). So you can easily exclude all moves but the best by right-clicking '+tail' when you first reach the position. Listing of moves only continues for as long there is space for the in the header. Otherwise they will remain 'tail moves', even if they have a different exclusion state than the rest of the tail. Such a mixed tail state will be indicated by a '*' in front of 'tail', in stead of '+' or '-'. Clicking on '*tail' will then exclude all tail moves.
The beta version (winboard.exe + polyglot.exe) can be downloaded from http://hgm.nubati.net/WinBoard-4.6beta.zip . Any feedback on this is welcome. Note that the feature to include / exclude all moves by throwing the King off board has been removed.
