Is there any good chess client to play correspondence chess by email apart from ectool ?

ectool was/is the best I've found!  You can use Chessbase and Fritz for cc also

i don't really remember. Look in the help files for it.  It had a good explaination on how to do it! I quit using Fritz and CB a while back.

Om, I only play on ficgs and here these days. I just cut/paste from Aquarium and Chess Assistant. I use xfccplay for WBCCC. Enter moves manually on ficgs.

Oh. Still Fritz is best though for simple tasks and not so buggy.

well,not so buggy...when you try to analyze a position in fritz 13 GUI,in a DPA,and you must choose the tree,when you select the moves to be analized for the first move,to the 2nd move,3rd an 4rd move and run the dpa,fritz simply starts analyzing the position with the moves you asignes for the 2nd move

so,if you want analize a position that the first move is scored with 0.60 and the second - 3.50,you will only choose 1 move for the fist move,and just and example,4 variants for the second move of the black,4 variants for the answer of the white,and 4 variants for the answer of the black,BUT,with that selection,fritz13 GUI instead of start analizing just one move (since the second is really a bad move),will start analizing 4 moves!

fritz always start analizing the moves(variants) you asign for the second move,so if you want run a dpa,you must 'duplicate' the variants for your first move,and write something like that :' 1,1,4,4' instead of '1,4,4,4',and the GUI will respect you the variants you want use for your first move...

fritz GUI makes that since at least the version 12 (im unsure about the 11 version),but version 10 was free of that bug

Have you tried the email interface of Scid? I have used only the xfcc functions and not the email, but this module is maintained by Alexander Wagner who is very helpful.

There is also mailchess (http://mailchess.mozdev.org/) but this is no longer being developed. I have not tried this also.

But why play be email, when there are plenty of servers available?
