Have you ever sat down to you computer and wondered which opening book to use? With 100s of choices that task can be rather frustrating and difficult. My forum is designed to help solve that problem!
OBCC (Opening Book Current Champion) otherwise known as the OB Double C, is my idea of inventing a fun tournament for computer chess opening books where you will always know what the current #1 chess opening book is at any given time!
This will be achieved by having the current best books being tested against each other, and a current rating list of the results posted for all to see. Each new book that wants to challenge the #1 spot will run a gauntlet against all other books previously competed.
So do you think you have what it takes? Submit your personal or private opening book to ME and I will run your book through the gauntlet to see if you are the next OB Double C!!
*Only The Top 10 Books Will Compete...Once A Book Drops Below The Top 10 Mark It Will Be Deleted From The Competition. This Never Ending Tournament Will Always Display The Current Top 10 Books At Any Given Time*
Test Conditions:
Engine: Houdini 2.0c Pro x64
Time Controls: 3/0
Books: Optimized, 0 games up to 100 moves

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tournament #2
BKK or B2K (Bullet Knockout King)
This tournament will be the ultimate book test of strength + speed!!
Games will be played at 1/0 Time Controls!!
To enter this contest your opening book must be in the current top 8 in the OBCC.
Your opening book must run a gauntlet through the top 10 OBCC and finish in the top 8 to compete here.
For each new round of the OBCC there will be one new round of the B2K with the current top 8 books.
The Knockout Rounds will consist of tournament style brackets and books will be seeded according to how they are ranked in the OBCC. The winner is the last book standing, the Bullet Knockout King!!

Can i enter without also joining the forum?
Of course! You can register for an account there, registration is free :)
What about the HIARCS book, will you test that?
Werewolf I would love to test the Hiarcs book, but unfortunately I do not have it :(
my question was:-
Can i enter the tournament WITHOUT also joining the forum?
It doesn't matter to me that registration is free or not, i just don't want to register, i already take part in enough forums.

I thought you had to register to be able to subscribe in this forum anyway?
perhaps i need to explain better.
i am very happy to have registered to use this site, i like it here.
i would like to enter the tournament above. i clicked on the provided link to enter the tourney, found myself at a DIFFERENT forum from this one. that forum requires a registration to proceed any further. i have no desire to join that forum, i'm quite happy with the forums i already participate in.
can i enter the tourney without also having to join that other forum?
or do people from other forums post invites here in the hope of luring people to their own forum?

You are under no obligation to join my forum. If you want your opening book tested please feel free to send it to me at Italian81@gmail.com
I will then email your results/games back to you, and if your book places in the top 10 it will be displayed for all to see.
If your book is private it will remain private and no download links will be given out.

Since you require people to register on your forum, why don't you just stick to that forum and leave Rybka Forum out of this?
He's just said that you don't have to register for his forum, you can email your entry straight to him.
Many thanks, i'll prepare my book and send it to you shortly.
Are there any requirements?

Thanks for your interest in my opening book tests my friend. The only requirement I have is that your opening book is no greater than 500MB zipped (with winrar)
You can upload it to a site like mediafire.com, and then send the download link to my email. If you wish to keep your book private, you can trust that I will not share it with anyone.
I will also send you the games back that your book has played in the tournament so you can continue to improve and make your book better.
It is a win/win situation for us both. You get more games to improve your book, and I gain pleasure testing it, and keeping my statistics updated.
Your friend,
Brandon

Dear Wael,
Yes i remember.... but everybody can make mistakes in the past
However i think, we should not be negative against Brandon, the friendships should be the winner
And so far i did notice nothing wrong with Brandon's postings...
Best,
Sedat
I don't think he's here for good intentions Sedat....
This guy is a real disease that can't be cured....

Sedat

P.S.But I don't like the idea of forcing people to register in his forum....

In short he was one of the biggest trolls in this forum's history and spread his trolling ways across a few other forums.
Better not....
Just ignore his forum and his stupid tournament....
A free piece of advice regards,

I have taken a near two year break from chess, and have done no trolling, but thanks for the welcome back Dr. Deeb. How have you been anyways?
Just finishing school, been studying pretty hard.

I both appreciate and respect your response. Thank you!!
Just looking to make friends, and enjoy some computer chess.
Things have changed for me, and though I am not perfect, I do feel I have calmed down a bit, and have since enjoyed chess much much more :)

Oh and just so you know Dr Deeb, you are the only one trolling here, I would appreciate if you kept your hateful words to yourself.
That said, have a nice day sir :)
I also want to state that I am not here to try and "steal" any members or "trick" anyone into joining my forum. I just want to give an alternative to those who are interested in seeing different opening books tested, and to meet other people who share the same passion as myself. Registration is optional, but it is not mandatory.
We are all here for our love for computer chess, lets continue to build on that as we reach out and make new friendships with people all over the world.
