I just closed Aquarium2011 and restarted the pc. When it came back up it said there was a serious error so it must've BSOD'd during the reboot. Not sure why Aquarium was affected but when I tried to open it, it said Options.ini was missing/corrupted and it would create a default one. It did. My games list was gone so I had to open it manually from the database. They're there but everything's underlined and looks messed up. Minor problem but it sucks.

The main issue is that my IDEA tree seems to be blank. I no longer see the moves it kept scores on, etc. I assume that got corrupted too. Is there a backup or a way to reload it? Since the options.ini file was recreated, maybe I just need to tell Aquarium what file to load for that tree? Same as how I had to readd the engines and change its settings back to what it was.

there is a backup folder in Atrees. Look it up and restore the latest stored tree (there are other ways to restore information, but this is the easiest for me to write )

The backup folder I have there is from 2011. It contains DeepAnalysis elm and hsh files but again, they're all old. I don't think these backups are done very often. Latest one I have is from Nov. 2011 and I use aquarium daily.

i am talking about the backup folder insider Atree. i has 4 folders in it
one of them is LastVersion. Go inside it and then inside 0. there you will find the latest backup

That's what I was talking about too. And they're from Nov. 2011. I have another laptop with the same aquarium version and those backups are also old. If these are automatic then obviously they're not working for me. Besides, those are only DeepAnalysis files/tree and I don't use it.

I strictly use IA so I think these are the only ones I need to restore, though it'd be nice to also restore my options.ini because my notation window is screwed up. I tried renaming the options.bak to options.ini but that was also corrupted :-(

I tried using the options.ini file from my other laptop but that didn't help. Basically, my notation window now shows my inserted lines as underlined. It's supposed to be block highlighted (grey in my case) if you haven't visited the positions in that line. I thought it might be the styles manager so I saved it from my other laptop which is fine and imported it into this one. Font changed a bit but problem remains.

You confused me. Do you use IDEA or not? If yes do you use projects or not? If yes and there are no backups, then you have to reinstall Aquarium. I dont know what the problem is. Did you actually install Aquarium or just copied the folder from a computer to a computer?

No, I don't use IDEA. I use IA only but the positions I analyzed in IA are always stored and shown to me in the Idea tree under the IA column. That's what I lost and would like to restore though it's probably too late now that I analyzed new positions/games all over again.

Aquarium was installed properly.
