Dear Chess Friends,

Rybka 4.1 x64 1c (without pawn) test is started under SCCT Auto232 Rating:
http://www.sedatcanbaz.com/chess/ratings/scct-auto232/

More Details:
------------
• Only Rybka 4.1 x64 1c will be played without full pawn (e2 and e7)
• Rybka's opponents will be played at full performance (i mean with all pieces)
• For the current test will be used no opening books (Rybka+Opponents will use no book)
• 1c = Engine is using one core (1 CPU)
• WP = Engine is playing without pawn

What is your Elo estimation for Rybka,in case of such handicapped conditions ?

Thanks in advance,
Sedat Canbaz

My guess for Rybka under these conditions is a rating of 2990.

Was wondering if it's possible for you to include Komodo in your test.  It would be interesting to compare Komodo to other top engine's single core performance.

Actually your idea sounds good, but however i dont want to promise

I mean, in case of running many games (including more engine versions without pawn) under such handicaped conditions,
then i am afraid that all engine Elo standings will be effected

As we know, the engines without books perform quite differently than using neutral books

Lets see...maybe later i can make a duel-match only Rybka vs Komodo without pawn

Btw,its too early for announcing, but however i am shocked by the current Rybka's performance

Greetings,
Sedat

Why were you shocked?  Did Rybka perform better or worse than you expected?

Actually i am impressed, really a very good performance by Rybka (without pawn)
And during poll days,i used the word 'shocked'  instead of 'impressed',due to i did not want to make any influence over the poll results

Yes...my shocked's posting was on the day, when Rybka's first opponent was Pharaon:

I don't understand the question. You're going to handicap Rybka 4.1 by removing it's e-pawn and play random opponents?

>I don't understand the question. You're going to handicap Rybka 4.1 by removing it's e-pawn and play random opponents?

Yes...Rybka 4.1 is playing without one pawn
I mean, e2 pawn is removed when Rybka is White
And when Rybka is Black,e7 pawn is removed too

As i mentioned before,Rybka's opponents are playing with all pieces

Best,
Sedat

Sedat, I see in the conditions the engines play with "Perfect 2012a"   are you going to upload this version of the book on your site?
