Was not expecting Be3, the more I look at it the more I feel the strength behind it. He seems preparing for a queenside castling then all out attack in the kingside! :evil: it might take some time for my response here I need to be careful as this will be a roadkill for me.

I thought that it was an improvement over 7. Bg5 idea. As this move will disrupt the harmonious development of my kingside via 7. ...Ne7 8. Be7! and I have no choice but to capture with my king!. Forced is 7. ... h6 8. Be3, so white committed black to have a potential weakness due to h6 move. I'm still digesting the power of 7. Be3, I have so many moves now at my disposal. So far no weaknesses in my pawn structure other than a lag of development but due to the close nature of the position I can get away of it. Now the question, is the white queen better placed on g4 or at d1?

interesting opening choice of you definitely.
I was expecting 3....dxe4 or even 3....Nf6 of you.
3....Bb4 is tough for black lately, prove me wrong though always welcome. :wink:

I have several opening suprises this year in WBCCCC. The only thing I hate if my opponent plays a boring draw, much better to play chess. Now back to the position I think I found a good strategy to take advantage the wrong placement of both the queen at g4 and bishop at e3. My next 5 moves shall change the course of the game in black favor. I wil finalize my strategic analysis after a day or two.

I had this position as white some 20 years ago in an OTB tournament ... I did not think my bits were misplaced lmao but I am no chess engine :lol::razz::twisted:
