Tony paid for Jose trophy out of his pocket despite having nothing to do with WBCCC.

he is a great guy and like myself hates to see injustice done to a great winning champion.

there are much richer guys on forum than tony and i,however i would like to think we care more about people than most.

just my silly take on all of this.

Chess are played by honorable men. When I was young I was told that many centuries ago it was the games of Kings. In my opinion chess players should be respected especially with the camaraderie built in this forum.

You are totally rigth Paul, I cannot thank him enough for this detail.

That's why I take the commitment to buy WBCCC 2 winner's trophy.

Hi,
For me someone not getting a trophy for winning brought back a funny old memory of when my son with two others won the county under 6 (maybe 7) championship many years ago and when it came to the prize giving seeing 3 little kids go up and only 1 trophy available was awful ... Luckliy the controller quickly considered the 3 children all staring up at him and grabbed 2 trophies from the older age group sections and said `the older spotty oiks won`t mind getting theres in the post` to which everyone laughed.

This is a great tournament but like most places in the world the forum has few folk who would steal your gold teeth if you were not looking

Regards
Tony
