Can't that money be used to pay the winners of WBCCC 1 in part? Because, it just feels wrong that they were promised something they didn't get.

this is as you know a tricky one for me,i already paid £300 so some prize money could be paid out for WBCCC 1.

i am well out of pocket atm,despite this i am prepared to put up fresh money for WBCCC 2

i will hold money or transfer to Garvin if people wish.

i am prepared to purchase a trophy for ppipper out of my own pocket so he has a great momento of his brilliant play and win in WBCCC 1.

            ppipper should get a trophy and should not have to shop around and pay for it himself .... Maybe ppipper has a place in his own country we can do the order from ... Having a lot of experience around the world with many countries postal delivery systems we can only cross our fingers that it arrives lol Mexico is the worst on the Americas side in fact we stopped posting there as nothing as ever arrived lmao and Italy is the worst in Europe for shall we say things going missing :eek::mad:

                Slight problem, well for me my Spanish is erm as we say pigeon English standard :red: so I may need help with that website

What should or do you want engraved on the trophy? ...... Your address will be needed but only do that via a PM so that it is kept confidential.

I assume a single trophy\plague is best as you can keep it, otherwise one which can be engraved with a new winner each year will have to be returned at some point and the we run the risk of the worlds postal services losing it at some point.

If anyone has any other points of view or some other options please feel free to say

Sure, I think a single plaque or trophy is better.  i like the idea that last edition winner is responsible to buy next one instead of delivering his own trophy.

As for the kind of trophy I agree whatever decisión is made.

              I have picked out a trophy from the London chess center .... Sandra is ordering it tomorrow (Monday) to go to the shop so I can then get it engraved and posted, then it is fingers crossed concerning the spanish postal service lmfao.

ppipper I will PM you to get your address when it is ready to post ...... Now what to engrave on it? maybe `ppipper WBCCC 2011`

Hi,
    The trophy is on its way to our shop, the British postal service is not what it used to be so a few days I reckon (that is why it is going under and private companys are far better) .... As for the engraving we will have to see how much room is available once it has arrived.

Have attached a (zoomed in) pic of me in Cuba as it was the last one I had taken although the goatee has altered lol ... Our shop is Fives Records 103 Broadway Leigh on sea. Just in case I vanish although I doubt I will run off with the trophy I paid for lol but you can all draw horns on  or throw darts at the pic :lol::twisted:

     Cuba is our second favouite place we have travelled to (The Maldives for obvious reasons being number one). Where we stayed it really was like a bit of a time warp once we left the hotel.

We stayed at the Paradiso Rio de Oro in the Holguin area, also the airport was the fastest and most efficient one EVER!! even our luggage was alreading waiting for us as soon as we had shown our passports :eek::eek:  .... Go to Cuba Jose you already have the language and will get on great there

Hi,
    I have friends on both the east and west coasts but mainly Perth and FB is prob the simplist way to keep in contact .... I cannot quite persuede myself to do the flight for a holiday and visit as my limit or rather my backsides limit is 10-12 hours long haul, I always get the extra legroom seats but even so I may simply have to look around Oz via google earth lol

    Just keeping folks up to date the trophy arrived at the shop this morning, Sandra will bring it home so I can see how much room there is for the engraving. I think with luck it will be in the post and on its way to ppipper on Monday or Tuesday (23rd -24th)

              The trophy has been engraved and is actually being sent today the 20th Jan ..... Sandra maybe a good business woman but the photo the dear girl sent me from her mobile phone is not going to win any prizes lol ... Julie who deals with the post will be sending it today, we hope to be able to get it signed for but do not know what options are available.

If Jose can post a message when he gets it just to let everyone know it has arrived
