It speaks for itself. Will be hearing form me very soon now. Went a head and moved out the non sense.
you have no right to delete threads and comments. That was a very foolish move on your part.i was not born yesterday.
There was people who didn't want a thread about me quitting, I see no reason for it to be up now. If I'm staying do you?
you should still not delete a thread without asking others, these things happened.
David and a few others didn't want it up that I was quitting. What would you want me to do with put it in the mod vault and collect dust?
All kidding a side. That was the first time in a long time I deleted anything.

I'll be willing to PM anyone that has ask to know, but I'm not going to put my personally life on the forum. I believe that is a fair request.
I wanted jimmy to close down all threads on the matter and give a open account of what happened to WBCCC 1 not his personal life just the event period.
Reading threads below it is already beginning to fester and posts reflect that.
If WBCCC 2 happens it should be made clear start dates who is playing prize money or no prize money a new forum or section should be setup for WBCCC 2 if it goes ahead.
If it looks like it is not going to happen it should be stated as so and we can move on.
Letting this all drag on is stupid it set a bad tone to any event.
So jimmy explain the factors in the WBCCC 1 prize situation what your plans are and how you will and when you will start WBCCC 2.
If not call it all off and we can go back to other forms of chess.
Ultra-d thanks
If WBCCC 2 happens please advertise it prize money or not..

fine with me.

I think you should have moved them to The Flip Side or Drama Llama, deleting every trace of the facts seems bad, I've been disappointed by some of your latest actions.
What am I trying to hide? Everyone knows there was issue with the money, I don't have anything to hide. But as I told Paul I'm not going to broadcast my personal life on the forum.
You still have to explain why you've been acting like that lately, "personal reasons" doesn't cut it, I almost don't recognize you anymore.
Well, as a spectator i followed WBCCC starting with end of round 2 beginning of round 3...
so i might have missed the "whole picture", still a few things make me wonder seriously
browsing through the threads with statements of TheHug regarding the prize money:
"What am I trying to hide?"
Eh, after i asked donkasand yesterday about the prize money (and where he is used to play
correspondence chess besides our rybkaforum-subform), you simply deleted the whole first
balabachi-"prize money"-thread! As i then created a new thread asking why it was deleted,
you stated it was deleted by accident (yes, sure! :-)) and even deleted this thread also.
ppipper, donkasand, jitan, balabachi and others asked about their persuaded prize money,
but you even didn't care about answering them... simply ignoring/deleting those threads.
(and as they stated, they didn't even receive any pm about their prize money from you)
I'm not sure if you even have realized that you owe them money?! If you don't have it,
lend it somewhere, go working or whatever... but pay them as you, legal-binding, have
persuaded! And don't waste their times telling them about imaginary "sponsors"... they
don't have to care about it, you owe them money, not the "sponsors" (btw., where are they?,
has anyone seen here banners/commercials or any proof of their existence&goodwill at all?).
And when one adds 1+1 together: if you would have such generous people in your back, why
did you needed NATIONAL12's financial help when your computer broke down? You are known to
people with such goodwill giving away 2000 dollars to people they don't know with nothing
in return, which are on the other side not willing helping you out for a new/old computer?
Sure... why at all is the original prize money-thread not a sticky on the first WBCCC-page,
but moved into a/the flip-side of the forum? And in that thread, didn't you state that the
prize money is from YOU? (http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=20063)
(btw., if this post&thread is deleted again i will simply pm/email this text to the people...)
Well, besides that:
WBCCC was a great tournament i really enjoyed it as a spectator - the play of the top-field
lead by ppipper/NATIONAL12&others was simply fantastic, the atmosphere of commenting the
games and having fun together very interesting, and i eagerly hope there will be WBCCC II,
a honest(!) WBCCCII!

Before you keep going on and looking back at every little thread about me. You should probably ask a few of the long timers about me.
First off I can show you that Paul ask to help me back in March and I could have done it myself. I was trying to get back as quickly as I can! There was going to be people about to leave the ship on me! I have had people leave on me because of trolls talking bullshit about them AND I tried to move them out and yet they still seen it for just a sec and that was all it took. I stay up until 3am+ on many nights to try and do what I could. I wouldn't have wasted these people time for a whole ****ing year if I didn't think I couldn't do it. I had a LOT of bullshit happen to me in this last year. I had my father in the hospital back in March for heart surgery and was in for weeks. There is much you don't understand. I had the funding for this and mistakes were made I admit that! I had some people I trusted and I got screwed! I tried to make up for it and the clock tick down to 0 and now the ugly truth is out. I had my chances before the tournament started and I even had been advised by some experience people on this forum to not make it a money tournament. But I was a newbie at this I thought it was necessary to have such a thing. I was a damn fool and when shit hit the fan I tired my damn hardest to make up for it.
Nobody Betty has tried harder than I have to try and do something form this forum than me! I tried to help it with the censorship problems. So I asked to become a mod and I would say I have done a decent job of that. When this forum was in its worst flame wars ever I tired to give everyone something by making WBCCC.

Jimmy, we all appreciate your ideas&work you brought into this great WBCCC-tournament,
but that's not what we're discussing here about: it's censoring/deleting threads,
ignoring the winners of prize-money including their threads (you did even joke about
your grammer in those, but oversee people directly asking you in the same thread?!),
and "letting people in the dark" about other important matters i wrote about above...
as he stated even the chief arbiter Garvin Gray wasn't able to contact you for weeks!?
To me, and most likely to others too, an apologize to the corresponding people, a message
when prize-money will be paid out and a few other things would now highly be appreciated,
i want to see great players like donkasand, jitan and others come back for next edition.
Good luck, and looking forward to WBCCCII/2012!

> but pay them as you, legal-binding, have persuaded!
I don't think there was anything legally binding whatsoever, and I'm really not sure that there is much of a reason to expect Jimmy to pay a single cent at this point. Were contracts signed? Especially considering the fact that the tournament didn't have an entry fee, there certainly weren't any losses incurred. If the money from the promised sponsors disappeared, there is nothing that can be done because there were no contracts signed. I'm sure that if contracts WERE signed, then Jimmy would have also signed contracts with the sponsors. As such, if the sponsors disappear, it is reasonable to expect the money to disappear.
Contracts were not signed, but conditions were accepted. This should have been enough.
A very respectable person here has some how sponsorized with part of the prizes value.

No, you're wrong, a declaration/statement of intention - like starting & letting play a tournament with persuaded prize-money, is already a (implied) -legally binding- contract by itself; and again no, the party of players doesn't have to care about where that persuaded prize-money comes from - as long as it is not obviously of illegal origins of course - especially as the tournament director stated that the prize-money is from himself (which -again- is not important at all).
Besides that: i have the feeling that most players don't care about the prize-money too much at all, its more a question of honesty/trust and getting answers to all the open raised questions...
(btw., the nice little weasel i linked here sadly was made into Wellsville-beef :-( in the typical Kansas-style, maybe i better start my own chess-blog on the net soon...)
Edit: And if you please let me add one thing:
The moment i have a problem that my real name (and we're speaking here about a person who is working for an public educational institution) is associated with the opinions i state in a public forum is the moment where one has to really ask whether this person is really standing behind what (s)he writes, or what (s)he is ashamed/frightened/etc. of... the opinion can't be too weighty when i can't even write my own name under it!

If someone reports you for putting there personally info on the net and they don't want it up there. Then I have to delete it.
By the way I don't live in Wellsville anymore.

It shouldn't be the person we're arguing--it should be the ideas and facts themselves. Anyway, if this was a perfect world, there would be no problem. Naturally, though, it's not, and people make major decisions based on past actions of people. Right now, the main issue for me is that I don't want potential future employers thinking that I waste time online. Secondly, a previous issue (no longer really an issue nowadays) is that I used to be far more controversial than I am now
and this could give many people a misinformed impression (people generally behave differently online than they do face-to-face). Furthermore on the second point, it's nice to be able to argue ideas based on the merits of the idea without having to go out into the real world with potential employers automatically placing some sort of label on me from the ideological and political set of labels, whatever the merits, or lack thereof, the label(s) has (have).

First, as for "real name" stuff, it's more of a situation of not wanting potential future employers to get the impression that I spend a lot of time here (which I don't anymore, but used to spend a lot of time), which would give worries of "oh, this might be something that he'll often do on the job". This is a standard concern in the job market--just do a quick internet search, and you'll see what I mean. There was an article about it on either CNN or NYTimes about a year or so ago, I think.
Anyway, from various messages, I see I might have been too quick in my previous reply, particularly if the players didn't understand that the prize money was coming from a third, indirect source. Nonetheless, I guess it's still a risk in electronic competitions like this, and I don't think that the law really covers this. I was mainly replying to the "legally binding" part.

Oh ok, i understand and apology that the 'lil weasel-joke which i couldn't resist ;-) caused discomfort where a smile was intended. Betty
Actually, I would have very much enjoyed the weasel joke if the reference web page was different.
The reason that it's on mine is that I use weasel references for examples in class all the time (such as a weasel is launched from a slingshot by a troll at an angle of 22 degrees from the top of a 30-meter cliff--find the impact velocity, time of flight, and maximum height of the weasel--along with a little weasel picture), and the students appreciate it.

I'm glad there was an understand. I didn't won't you to think I was using you as a censor target or anything like that.
The first time I was a moron, the 2nd one the other turbo here wished for it not to be there.

No one here is interested in your personal life, at least in the context of these threads.
We are only claiming for a full and detailed explanation regarding WBCCC I prizes. I really think we deserve it, not only prize winners but also all players who have put great efforts in the last tournament. Me, as WBCCC Champion am quite disappointed with all this. In my case is not a question of money, but a formal way to do things.
Personally I think these explanations have to be made publicly, there are not two different groups of people, winners and no winners. This is not a personal thing, Jimmy, it is just the easiest way to recover your credit related to how you have managed this issue (rest of matters in WBCCC are under a big consensus, that you did it really well)

Hello all,
I think it is time that I make a more formal statement regarding certain events, since I am also getting asked by pm about them and that I have tried on multiple occasions to contact Jimmy via pm, email and at ficgs. So I have tried most methods to get in contact with Jimmy.
In regards to moderators moderating their own threads. The almost universal policy and practice on this one is that it is a major no-no for a few reasons, but as has already been mentioned, that it can appear to be trying to cover items up, justified or not.
This then leads to further threads and posts and the point of deleting the original thread is gone. The correct practice is to ask another moderator to delete/alter the thread, or at least do not reply on that thread.
Nature abhors a vacuum, in the place of facts and official statements regarding serious matters, people will add their own interpretations, based on what they have seen and heard from others. Various players, prize winners and myself from WBCCC 2011 have asked for and strongly recommended that a full account of everything that has occurred be done. This is to include who were the sponsors, when was it realised that the money may not be appearing and what steps were taken to try and recover this money.
National12 has stated that money has been sent to at least partly help with prizes for 2011. I am wondering what is happening with this money. If nothing is going to happen with it, then it should be returned to National12 immediately.
If it is going to be used to pay as many prizes as possible, then this should also be done immediately.
I have contacted Jimmy Huggins on multiple occassions over the last few weeks attempting to find out what is happening with 2011, or what are we doing with 2012, for no response whatsoever. This has then affected 2012 as everything is now being done late.
One main item that I am concerned about for WBCCC 2012 is that these matters may not be resolved soon and they will drag on and on, affecting WBCCC 2012 as a successful event.
Unfortunately, I have a strong feeling that while most have been understanding or sympathetic to what has occurred, as these matters continue to drag on and on, this understanding will erode over time.

Jim you still have time, give your explanation and clarify all of these things.
